I CCW my G19 and I am always loading and unloading it.

Is it bad to put my +1 round in the chamber by putting it in the slot and dropping the slide and

then put in my full mag?

Instead of having to take out the mag and put the extra round in that way?

I hope this isnt confusing.

I've heard that causes extra wear on the extractor. I doubt it will hurt anything though.

Does it ding up the rim of the brass at all?

always chamber a round from the mag and rotate your ammo to avoid a KB

Probably won't hurt it, but the gun is designed to be magazine fed...Besides, everytime you drop the mag and then reinsert it make it a training event.  Mag change drill or whatever.  Next thing you know mag changes will be smooth and fast.

Your extractor has to jump the rim of the round in the barrel every time you drop the slide on a round.  To ensure a long life for your extractor, suck it up and load it from the magazine.

Also - why are you constantly loading and unloading the gun?  I just leave my guns loaded and holstered.

He probably unloads his carry ammo to shoot FMJ at the range then loads it again.

Is it bad to put my +1 round in the chamber by putting it in the slot and dropping the slide and
then put in my full mag? Yes, feed from the mag, easier on the extractor.

As others have said, don't rechamber the same round too many times.  It will cause setback, which increases pressure when the round fires.

Why though, are you always "loading and unloading"?  Must be a reason for this.

I always fire off the top HP in my handgun when practicing anyway, and often times the whole mag.
