I CCW my G19 and I am always loading and unloading it. Is it bad to put my +1 round in the chamber by putting it in the slot and dropping the slide and then put in my full mag? Instead of having to take out the mag and put the extra round in that way? I hope this isnt confusing. |

Your extractor has to jump the rim of the round in the barrel every time you drop the slide on a round. To ensure a long life for your extractor, suck it up and load it from the magazine.
Also - why are you constantly loading and unloading the gun? I just leave my guns loaded and holstered.

Instead of having to take out the mag and put the extra round in that way? I hope this isnt confusing. As others have said, don't rechamber the same round too many times. It will cause setback, which increases pressure when the round fires. Why though, are you always "loading and unloading"? Must be a reason for this. |
