My G35 is jamming about 3 in 100 rounds, thru 2000 rounds, using either Speer 180gr Gold Dot or Federal 155gr HST. THe stoppages are such that the cartridge is aiming nose up and pegged in the hollowpoint, so if i push down on the front of the cartridge, it slams home. Is this the magazine, my hold...little help? |
| Do you have a set of calipers? What is the cartidge overall length? Does this only happen with hollow points? Check your feed lips on the mags. Looking at my G35 it is almost a straight shot right into the chamber. To me it sounds like the rounds might be a little on the short side. |
My bet is that it's the mags or the recoil spring. Even the magic flat wire Glock recoil springs need to be replaced eventually.![]() BTW, have you done any mods to the gun? Other than that, with a stock-ish gun using OE mags loaded with factory ammo, the gun shouldn't jam ever unless something is broken. |

Nope, no mods of any kind. I got it as a law enforcement officer, and have made no modifications to it EXCEPT putting meprolight night sites on it. But the jamming has been going on before the night sites. I stripped it down, and couldn't find anything broken. The only thing is that i did bury it in wet mud to see what would happen, and that day it jammed once BEFORE i buried it in the mud, but not once afterwards (about 50 rounds). After that, I stripped it down completely, washed it in warm soapy water, then dried it using a compressor, and then reassembled it. But it was jamming before that, too, so I don't have a clue. It has jammed on CCI cheapo ammo, too. The FMJ stuff. It worries me, because Glock's are so easy to care for, but i can beat this 'reliability' in a 1911... |

Are you shooting it with a Tac Light on it? The other firearms instructor at my agency had a Streamlight on his and it screwed up the timing of the cartridge entering the chamber causing stoppages because of the increased front end weight. Glock actually sent him new magazine springs and it fixed the problem. Sounds crazy I know but still true! |

What you describe seems to be a feeding issue. Limp wristing is normally leading to ejection problems, so let's rule that out for now. The overall cartridge length might be marginal, especially since it's a hollow point but if different ammo does not cure it, I'd contact Glock for new mag springs and maybe a few followers, too. |
Nowhere do you mention re-oiling it. Glocks need lube too, you know. Anytime I see a gun malfunction, unless there is something obviously broken, the first order of business is to not only clean, but lube properly as well. This solves 99% of people's problems, because many do not clean or lube their weapons throughly enough. It's worth a try. |

Yeah, sorry I forgot to mention that. I did cover it all with a coat of Break Free CLP, and then added drops of RemOil consistent with the owner's manual. I wondered about that too, but then I remembered it was doing it before I washed it in water, too. Been |
