Just bought a GSG 1911. All my 1911’s have the flat main spring housing. Since the magazine safety is incorporated in the arched MSH, can I still swap it out for a flat style?
Thanks |

I dumped mine when I changed out the MSH. One thing I learned is the internals from the old one fit just fine. The retention pin in the GSG one did not work on the Ed Brown i replaced it with. Of course they dont come with any pins. Just a FYI. I do like the straight feel better than the one that came with it.

The Ed Brown one with mag shute on it was a straight drop in. I was shocked. I used a nighthawk one and it dropped in with no fitting as well. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=24562/sku=100-003-233/Product/Govt-FL-Mainspring-Housing |
