[ARCHIVED THREAD] - G Code shipping delays (Page 1 of 3)

just wondering if anyone else here are experiencing shipping delays and lack of customer service from these guys. Ordered an Incog IWB holster back in January with the understanding that turn around time would be 4-6 weeks. I received an automated email 2 weeks later informing me that I was at the 2 week mark. Since then, it's been over 12 weeks and still haven't received anything. I've contacted them and the only thing I got back was that they're moving warehouses and because of that delays will be a lot longer, but will not say when they plan to have them shipped. Assured me that "future" orders after the warehouse is built will be a lot quicker....
Their FB page is full of angry people who also have ordered back in January and have not received a product. G Code for the most part haven't been answering emails and reaching them through phone is next to impossible. Someone who managed to reach through G Code's CS line was told that they have no idea when holsters will be shipped, not even a ballpark estimate. Not sure if I like being charged for a holster that I may get by the end of this year if I'm lucky. I want to cancel my order, but from what I'm reading on their FB page, people are having difficulty even trying to talk to someone to do that. |
|
I ordered my holster 1-08-14 and it was charged to my card. They sent me a notice in 2 weeks that my order was processed. I waited 11 weeks and did not hear anything else. I called them ...left a message on the answering machine. Someone called me back and explained they were moving to a larger building and getting new equipment installed over the weekend. They would build my holster on Tuesday and ship it FEDEX rather than USPS and include a T-shirt.
My holster arrived this past Saturday...no T-shirt. In case someone there reads this post, it was order #39330 and I wear XL. Still expecting to get my shirt. My review of the holster...I have a G23 and G27. They sell a holster for the 19/23 so the 26/27 will fit, but they do not make a shorter holster for the 26/27. I was going to cut the bottom of the holster 1/2" to fit the 27 however the screws that retain the belt clips prevent this. I would prefer the shorter holster. Maybe they will make a 26/27 model. The longer holster rests in my groin when I am driving. Not terribly uncomfortable but the 1/2" would make a difference. Retention is good, but IWB eliminates that issue as far as I am concerned. I like the fuzzy exterior of the holster. It creates some friction on your clothing and helps hold the holster in place. It is non reflective. The interior is glass smooth. The edges are nicely rounded. The belt clips are advertised as pushing the holster back into your abdomen to help prevent printing. The clips are very flexible and as far as I can tell they do not push the holster back in. In their defense, I work out every day and my abs are pretty stiff, so it might be of some benefit to someone who is on the heavy side. The holster can be dropped 1/2" deeper by moving the belt clips, but I like the holster up higher for two reasons...keeps it out of my groin while sitting, and second, it gives me a full access for the grip above my belt line. It is an easy draw from the holster. Would I buy it again? It is an expensive holster, but aren't they all. Life time warranty for the original owner. The quality of construction is high. All of the materials are first rate. It works. It is comfortable when standing, turning, running. I would prefer a shorter holster for the 27. I felt like I got put on permanent hold but they said it could take 8+ weeks but I knew that when I ordered. They responded to my first phone call and they were very polite and explained that they were super busy...that is the real reason...but they were also moving to a new site. I used to own a commercial printing company and you have a "system" of moving the work and maintaing the quality of the work. If they can do that, I would order the holster for my 27 if they make one. The man I talked to was professional, answered my question fully, polite...they just need a better system. By the way I want my T-shirt!...order #39330...XL. |

Finally got mine after 13 weeks. HORRIBLE customer service. The guy I was able to exchange emails with took ZERO responsibility at all and actually said i was being unreasonable when i questioned his communication skills. Been buy G-Code since they started selling holsters since I was stationed at Lejeune. My current order is probably my last. 14 weeks for a holster with people who ordered after me already getting their order is just poor business practice. |
| Yeah, I'm currently at the 14 week mark and haven't received anything or a response from email. I'll give them the rest of this month to respond to my email or ideally a ship notice. If not, I'll probably start hitting their phones pretty hard at the beginning of May. |
|
Their response:
"Thanks for your email. I have made the appropriate updates to your profile. Thanks for letting us know and hopefully, you will receive your product soon!" Hopefully I'll receive my product soon? What kind of response is that? Oh well, at least they changed my address. |
| I e-mailed them yesterday about the posts here. They read them. They sent my T-shirt.They have read your reactions to the poor customer service, and hopefully they will respond by getting your orders out. I like the G -code IWB holster for my G23. I was not in any hurry to get it, but I was disappointed that it took so long to get it. If they make one for the 26/27, I will order one. There are a lot customers on this forum who would really enjoy this holster, but no one will order them if they can't deliver the product. WE, as a group, have a lot of influence on these manufacturers. Just look at the top of this page at all of the ads...they want your business. They are spending money to get your business. Let's see if they can deliver! |

This. I was planning on ordering one, not so sure now. In y'all's communications was there any mention of current lead time? Or of things actually getting better? Quoted:

Be honest with your lead times and let the customer make the decision from there. This. I was planning on ordering one, not so sure now. In y'all's communications was there any mention of current lead time? Or of things actually getting better? None whatsoever. I have received no communication outside of my initial confirmation, and them confirming an order change (brainfart when I ordered). I would stay away. I am now a month past the quoted lead time and from other customers' comments, I may be another month or two from receipt. The only reasons I haven't canceled are that I haven't found another similar holster in Kryptek (wanted something tactical-y) and that I don't NEED it soon. |

They still haven't responded to my emails yet and on their FB page people are saying that they're not giving estimates anymore. The only thing they'll tell you is that ship times will be much faster AFTER the new warehouse is built. It's probably safe to say that all orders put in before then will take a minimum of 10 weeks and for those of us who ordered in January probably 14+ weeks. |
| Ordered on 1/26 and got it today. Love the product. Im not really a high maintenance consumer, but would have appreciated them being upfront about the wait being 3x what was quoted on the website. I will probably hold off on any more purchases from them for a while. Hopefully the quality will not go down in the interim. |

Well I ordered an INCOG for my 19 yesterday.....before I read this thread. Nice to know I'll be waiting a while. I don't need it now, I just wanted to try out appendix carry. It would have been nice to know up front I would be waiting this long instead of the 4-6 week wait that is clearly stated in multiple places as you place an order. That in of itself is piss poor.
I did wait 16 weeks for a custom Raven Phantom a couple years ago, I didn't mind one bit, I was told up front it would take that long. All I own are Raven holsters , thought I would try out G-Code. Our Boy Frank runs them, they have to be decent right? |

Another G Code customer waiting for their holster to ship out! From the looks of it I still have a ways to go. I ordered a SOC on 3/8, and people are just not getting orders from January. To date I've called once, and sent 2 emails. I haven't heard anything back from them. I read on their facebook page that supposedly the owner isn't "tech savy" and apparently doesn't know how to use email... Didn't you just win a government contract? Hire someone to reply to emails... I love how their website says if you don't receive a reply via email after 1 business day to just send another email. WTF is that?
So much for having this holster to use for a class I'm taking next weekend. Unfortunately, I preferred the SOC over the Blade-Tech light bearing duty holster and I really don't want to cancel this order. Hell, I don't even know if I could considering they aren't even communicating with their customers. I'm not one to take time out of my day to complain about a company because I deal with customers day in and day out at work, but when I spend $200 on a holster and can't even get a response from the company I'm more than annoyed. |

I was told at 6 weeks that I would have it in 2 more weeks. Now I am on the hunt for a holster, I just want to carry my shield! |

On the phone the guy was an ass too, so don't call expecting great customer service. |

It almost seems like asking to cancel your order gets you bumped to the front of the list from what some people on Facebook have reported. I guess hitting them in the pocket book reorganizes some priorities.
I really wish I didn't have to possibly cancel my order, or maybe threaten to cancel my order and end up going with Blade-Tech. I like G Codes RTI system over Blade-Techs endless modular attachments that I still can't totally get straight. Either way, I still don't have the holster I intended to use for a training class in 7 days even though I ordered with time to spare per their lead times on the G Code website. |
|
No dog in this fight I agree more accurate lead times would be helpful. Gcode is about 20 mins up the road they make amazing holsters. They sell to the military as well as hundreds possibly thousands of distributors in the conus. So with at least hundreds of stocking dealers in the US, the only reason I would get in line behind thousands of standing orders by ordering from the mfg is if I was wanting a one off custom. I have owned 3 gcodes longest I've had to wait was 6 days. I'm also surprised by their poor customer service I've emailed them and contacted them directly via email. I had a courteous response within 8 hrs. I sure hope they pull it together, and get you guys straightened out.

And yes, I would still be doing all I could for customer service, as being in customer service it's the service that can keep an order, or at least a customer even if that particular order is cancelled. And it's for a Sheild, not a one off gun I made in the shop. There is probably someone in line who he can turn around and ship it too. I never said he had to do backflips that I cancelled, but treating me as an inconvenience because I gave money for a product and want that product doesn't work for me. |
| I understand your frustration. I'm just playing devils advocate. BTW my friend ordered an incog for his shield from Harris tactical earlier this month. He had it in 6 days including a weekend. I have no affiliation or idea of current stock. If 10+ weeks is too long keep your eyes on the ee and gcodes Stocking dealers. 9 weeks for a built to order holster? Shit I remember a few years ago waiting 6 months for a milt sparks vm2 and nearly that long on my del fatti shoulder rig. Both plain Jane 5" 1911 holsters. |

Shit I remember a few years ago waiting 6 months for a milt sparks vm2 and nearly that long on my del fatti shoulder rig. Both plain Jane 5" 1911 holsters. I'm not mad at you, frustrated with them definitely. 3 weeks ago I emailed them on a Monday, called and left a message on a Wednesday, and emailed again on a Thursday evening before I got to talk to someone. That's when I was told two more weeks. That was at 6 weeks, and had heard nothing up to that point. I said that is OK, but I've already waited the 6 weeks and I'm ready for my holster. Mind you (especially those who have not ordered from them) they took payment awfully fast. When I ordered my Raven, soon after they came out and the waits were 3-4 months, but they didn't take payment until they were about to make it, and they called me about it (I also made a mistake in entering my info off the card, so they straightened it all out). I was informed the whole way and even a delay or two. Here I've heard nothing unless I've tried to find something, and then I am met with a smartass and made to feel like my money doesn't seem to matter. I'm glad they're growing, but keeping this service going they won't last. If I get my holster great, but if I get my money I've found a few others I can go with and get the same style holster. I was excited to help a local (well, rather local considered, I'm outside of Raleigh) but now I don't care. I just want my holster or my money back. |

That 8-10 weeks comment was added after I placed my order. The day I ordered, the FAQ page listed a lead time of 4-6 weeks. |
|
Another day has passed without a shipping notification...Feb 8 and 21 for my orders.
Approx 11 and 9 weeks here...shorter than some but almost double the 4-6 lead time I was quoted. Never have had a holster maker be this far off on dates and have never had one NOT contact me directly if it was going to take longer than quoted. These guys are breaking new ground for me.
These guys are in serious need of some basic customer service training. |

Ordered 15 Jan 2014 Shipped today 28 Apr 2014 Now that makes me really angry, 15 weeks for you, now im at 9 and because I called and talked to them they pushed mine up to appease me, before I canceled it (I still didn't trust it and because of the service) that is lack of respect for other orders entirely. Still waiting on either a holster or money back. That's the only thing I'm waiting on before ordering from somewhere else. |

Has anybody been on g-codes facebook page. They hired a few CS employees and a bunch of people were bashing the company. Its kinda funny. Im at 13 weeks today BTW Well at least someone might reply to one of my emails, but that isn't going to get my holster here by Friday for my class this weekend. A day late and a dollar short on hiring them. |

| I got a reply back to my third email that I sent last night from Scott at G Code. I won't be getting my holster in time for this weekend, but was advised my order should ship out no later than May 16th. I hope this means that their new facility is up and running and not that they are bumping people to the front of the line when they ask for a status. While I would love to have my holster tomorrow, bumping me only makes someone else wait longer, and could just get me bumped by someone is being very pressing on the issue when I wasn't. There's no way around that. |

I did send them a pretty nasty email, maybe that helped. Quoted:

Ordered 15 Jan 2014 Shipped today 28 Apr 2014 Now that makes me really angry, 15 weeks for you, now im at 9 and because I called and talked to them they pushed mine up to appease me, before I canceled it (I still didn't trust it and because of the service) that is lack of respect for other orders entirely. Still waiting on either a holster or money back. That's the only thing I'm waiting on before ordering from somewhere else. Ordered before him and still pending I did send them a pretty nasty email, maybe that helped. Hopefully it will, day 4 and no money from them. If I don't have it tomorrow there will be another fun phone call as it's been the 5 days they said. |

I want to just cancel my order but the credit card I used got replaced with a new one, different numbers. I doubt they would even attempt to refund me due to that. Sent one email last week asking for an update. No response. Week 10 for me. Tomorrow will make 16 weeks for me, I talked to them 3 weeks ago and Jose said he thought it went to a bench to be made and I should have it in a few days. |
