Anyone else using Gen5 for all their serious needs? I already use a G17 on duty, a G26 for regular edc, G17/G34 for 2gun and now I grabbed a used G19. They’re so shootable, reliable, accurate and smooth!! It’s been a long time since I was excited about a G19 but man! Attached File |

I haven't tried the Gen 6 yet, but I'm really happy with my G19.5. I think the gen 5 was a big improvement over previous gens. I cut down the large back strap for a big beavertail but small hump, and have Truglo TFX sights on it, but otherwise it's all stock out of the box. I picked it up for $515 OTD NIB from Family Firearms a few years ago. I miss that place. I also have a G34.5 but it's the first version of the gen 5 with the big cutout at the front of the grip. I don't like it nearly as much. I still want a Gen2 G19 though. I can skip G3-4 except for the gen 3 aftermarket builds. |

I still have my gen3 34 as well but it lives in a chassis. I haven’t shot a gen6 either but comparing gen3-5 I love the 5. |

I just had these two cut and optics installed at Glockstore, they are my daily carry. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/41996/Glocks-3756633.jpg Very nice and smart move! I have my original gen3 G19 and G34 still but otherwise they’re all Gen5 now!! I dumped my gen4 as well and no regrets. Also don’t see a reason to jump through hoops for a Gen6 anytime soon personally. |

I have a couple guns with optic plates and do not like using optic plates at all. With the RMR and Holosun K mounting patterns being so ubiquitous now, the rational for the ability to swap plates for different optics doesn't even seem important anymore. And honestly, I've been using red dots on handguns for almost 15 years. I have never felt the need to swap out optics to a newer RDS that wasn't already using the pattern milled into my gun, and even that I've only done very rarely. Sorry. [Optics Plate Rant off]

Oh, and a G21SF and Gen 4 G21 (bought the old work gun.) Maybe work will issue me a COA or Gen 6 someday. |

| I want a gen6 but my ffl hasn’t been able to get a 17. My state is ramming through a glock ban and they will pass it so it looks like I may not get my gen6 but I’ve been happy with my gen 5’s that I wouldn’t feel bad just having the gen5’s. |

The bore being shorter, means mechanically you are not pulling it off target as much when your trigger press is not perfect. The worst shooters with the full sized guns always shot significantly better with their 26. |

I don't have anything to quantify it, but I always felt the subcompact (G26 size) was the sweet spot for a CCW, even with the larger microcompacts (G48 size) out now. Thin is easy to conceal, but thick shoots better. Short sight radius is fast. Gunwriters such as Massad Ayoob have stated many times over that the Glock 26 can outshoot all Glocks. I remember reading years ago he stated that he got the (and his) highest score in a competition shooting a Glock 26. Glock 26 link 1 - click here Glock 26 link 2 - click here |

Gen 3-6 all have their strong suits. I think the Gen 6 guns are worth the upgrade though. I carried the same Gen 3 19 since 2012 and just got a Gen 6 19. I absolutely love it. Bought it so I could move to a dot on my carry gun. I have a couple Gen 5 guns. Gen 6 is everything they should have done for Gen 5. |

Shoot a gen 6. Then shoot your Gen 5s. Then go home And enjoy dreaming about Gen 6 Wake up feeling inadequate because you only have Gen 5 (In all seriousness..I was very much “pffft…love my gen 5s”. Then shot the gen 6. Now my sons have the gen 5s, and I have 4 gen 6s, and getting ready to buy a 5th. Only 5 I kept was the 26. And I guess the 43Xs if those count) |

My Gen 5 G17 is my go to SHTF pistol but my trigger bar rubs on the stupid ambi slide stop. For some reason it only does it on the first trigger pull too. Attached File |
