I recently bought a brand new Gen3 G19. Serial number is RXxxxx. Test-fire date was July 2011.

I became a little uneasy about my purchase after reading about all the ejection issues the Gen3 G19s were having.

Today was the first day that I was able to make it out to the range and test-fire it.

I fired 100 rounds of Federal Champion 115gr and 100 rounds of PMC Bronze 115gr. I meant to bring a box of Winchester Ranger-T but I forgot to bring it.

The second round of Federal caused a stoppage. The round had been engaged by the slide but failed to enter the chamber. It seemed to have been hung up on the feed ramp. I was able to easily clear the stoppage and resume firing. I believe that a factory-fresh recoil spring combined with weak ammo may have caused this.

The other 198 rounds were flawless. I consider the early stoppage to be a fluke that could have been caused by any number of things.

My shooting buddy and I took turns shooting the pistol and observing the ejection pattern. The pattern was slightly erratic but was generally in the 3-to-5 o'clock direction.

I've read stories of recent-production G19s having stovepipes and consistently ejecting cases straight back into the shooter's face. My recent-production G19 did not have these issues.

My range experience today set my mind at ease about my new Glock 19. Hopefully it does the same for you.

Nice to see. So far my G19 has been great. A little over 1000 rounds through it and it's been 100%

I don't think that round #2 stoppage means anything either. I'd take it up to 500 rounds to be sure, and as you plan to do, run your carry ammo through it. I think it'll be just fine.

Agree, I also would make sure that its lubed as per the factory and leave your mags loaded for a few days, new springs sometimes are too tight.

What is this latest panic of gen3 G19's having ejection issues? I have probably close to 5k and I have NEVER had any issue whatsoever. Gen3 G19. Please enlighten me.

I also have a July 2011-fired  RXxxxx s/n that I picked up in August with about 500 rounds through it so far. I can recall 2-3 stoppages at most.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Just bought some more ammo and I'm hoping to really keep testing this thing out. It's my third Glock so I expect it to run just as flawlessly as my previous two have.

Look around on this forum and on Glocktalk. A lot of people are very angry about the very latest run of Gen3 Glocks having ejection issues. Some of them have sent their pistols into Glock and had their ejectors replaced with a newer part (part no. 30274 vs the older part no. 336).

That means my G19 was made at about the same time as yours... mine must have been sitting in that display case for quite some time.

It's the federal champion not the Glock, it jams up my G34

I thought it was the gen 4 19's having problems.....now it is gen 3's? For f***'s sake.........

I just picked up 2 gen 3 19's with proof marks from Austria. I test fired the 1st with no problems with mixed ammo and I have not had a chance to test fire the 2nd. Anyony know how many proof marked 19's came in to the country and how long was it? Thanks!

The "problems" with glocks is not a glock problem, its a shooter problem. At least, it has been in my personal experience.

Yeah, this is the first I've heard of it. I've had mine since August, and about 500 rounds later it is still flawless.

Really? Here are just a few recent threads.

I think enough people are complaining about it that we can rule out the default "limpwristing" response.

I wouldn't be celebrating yet.  198 rounds is a little premature.

Lots of folks, including Bassgasm here, did not have any problems with the first 500 rounds, then the ejection problems started.

My Gen 3 19 had problems out of the box.  It has gotten worse with more rounds down it.

Hopefully, yours will be fine.

All the more reason to go shoot it after work tomorrow!

100 rounds of Federal Champion 115gr.

The pistol fed, fired, and extracted fine.

Ejection was erratic. I got nailed in the face many times. I also learned today that I shoot with my mouth open.

If anybody was curious, the burning pain doesn't set in until after you get a good taste of sulfur and brass.

(Yes, a brass case landed on my tongue.)

Not sure if the erratic ejection is due to weak ammo or otherwise. STILL have yet to try some full-power carry ammo. I'm thinking it's the weak ammo at fault because the pistol worked just fine otherwise.

I bet that was a surprise, and a sight to see! I've done the brass-stuck-between-eyepro-and-face dance a few times but the brass in the mouth has to suck!
