Are there any dissadvantages to owning a Gen 2 Glock vs a Gen 3.

Gen 2 has no light rail and no finger grooves on grip.  Otherwise pretty much the same.  Newer gen 3's also have a different extractor that gives a visual indication of a loaded round in the chamber (not sure how new, one I got in '05 had it.)  Is all I have off the top of my head.  Someone will come along and add anything I missed.

Not that it matters, but the Gen2 9mms are only 2-pin. The Gen2 .40s are 3-pin like all Gen3s. Not a big deal, just another difference.

Only early ones.  Eventially all Gen 2's were three pin.

No, the .380/9x19 models were still two pin up until ~2002.

Thanks for the info. Have a chance to pick up a police trade in for a decent price. All my current Glocks are Gen 3.
