Today at my LGS, I was told that Glock is bringing to the market Gen 3 19's with the dual recoil spring as in a Gen 4.  I have searched the web and not able to find any information about the update Gen 3's  Any information would be appreciated.

If this is true, I'm not sure why Glock would ever bother doing this. As far as I know, Glock had to redesign the frame to fit the new recoil spring on the Gen 4, which is why you can't put a Gen 3 slide on a Gen 4 frame. This would essentially just be a Gen 4 Glock with a Gen 3 frame texture.

First I've heard of that. I wonder what the reasoning would be?

I don't see a reasonable reason on Glock's end for this to happen and highly doubt there is any truth to this.

I don't believe this for a second.  It would basically defeat the purpose of both generations.  The Gen4 grips enhancements are gone and the parts commonality of the Gen3s is missing.  The worst of both worlds, really.

For the most part this is usually the case..... They also will try to sell you banana clips, tell you Navy Ranger red berets carry this, or you better buy it before Barry bans it with his next EO.

If they did that it would be a Gen4 with a gen3 grip texture. I could see them maybe doing that like they did rtf frames in gen3. But you just can't cram a dual recoil spring into a Glock 19 without altering the frame and slide.

No?  I thought there would just be a gap up front, and you had to run the Gen 3 recoil spring w/ the Gen 3 slide.

I'd love it if they did.

I don't like the interchangeable backstraps of the Gen 4.

A dual recoil sprung 17 would be perfect, especially if it was RTF'd.
