I just got a newer model G19 (3rd GEN) on a trade and something strange happened when I swapped the trigger bar to a smooth face trigger bar.  It would not reset properly, it would instead release the firing pin as i would release the trigger.  So, I did some investigating and found that the stock trigger bar looked like the one at the bottom of the picture, while the one at the top is what i was swapping into it.

(Not my picture, found it on the net)

Anyhow, what is different between the two is the bar that the trigger spring connects to.  After putting the orange inspection cover on the back, I saw that the smooth face trigger bar was barely making contact with the firing pin and during reset, as you would release the trigger, it would slip off the firing pin, releasing it.  Once I put the stock bar back in, it had full contact with the firing pin again.

Has anyone else had this issue?  I have used this smooth face trigger bar before with a G26 and did not have issues.  I swapped it with my G17 trigger bar and it worked fine in there.  It just does not work on this G19 with this funky trigger spring connection bar.  Oh, I did swap the bar from my G17 in this also and it was the same results, barely making contact with the firing pin.

The G19 is a TBY serial number, Austrian proof marks, born on date 05/11/12 per the spent casing date.
