What is everyone running for a decent mag  catch in a Gen4 for IPSC/USPSA?  I'm running a G17 in Production and a G35 in Standard and both give me problems seating mags and dropping mags, especially the 35.

On both guns I have to pound a full mag in for it to fully catch and the 35 sometimes wont drop a mag until I have used all my strength to push the mag release and altered my grip.

Tried the aluminum extended but that seemed worse. I'm sick of losing time farting around with mag changes.

Interesting problem. My 22s are a little tough if trying to seat a full mag on a closed slide, but I don't have any issues with my 17. Dropping mags on any of the guns is painless.

I just use the OEM extended mag release, works well for me.  I'm not sure why you're having trouble seating mags though...an extended mag release won't change that.

OEM extended.

If you shoot Production its really the only option.

If you have to pound the mags to get them to stay in,  you need to leave them a round short.

Its probably a function of using 10rd only mags. They are not too bad in 9mm but the .40's are really tight.

The mags not dropping consistently from the 35 is the main problem

You might want to try different basepads to help with seating the 10 round mags.  The TTI basepads don't use the insert that goes right above the basepad so that might give you a little extra room to help with seating a full mag.  TTI makes +0 basepads.
