I love working for a FFL. So our used gun buyer told me today that he took in a GLOCK 24C yesterday. He almost called me but said he'd offer it to me first. I decided to take the plunge today. Its got a serial# starting with M and it doesn't appear to have been fired much at all. Only down side to it: the 10 round mag Now I lack only a 22 and 27 to complete the .40 collection. Those are easy to find |

The 24 and 17L were originally long slide versions of the 22 and 17 respectively. The 24C has 4 ports cut in the barrel that exhaust through the larger lightened slide which encloses a 6.02" barrel.
I was contemplating getting a 24 after picking up a police trade-in GLOCK 35 over Christmas. I know the 24/24Cs and 17Ls are rare guns and when I saw the opportunity to get one which looks 98% I figured I should jump on it. The only reason I'm thinking it's 98% is because there's a 10rd magazine where there should be a 15, and the box doesn't match the serial# on the gun. No biggie. Serial# search reveals it's a 2009 production. |

Nice score. I used to have a 24C. It shot great, but I got rid of it because it was my only .40. About a year ago I started really missing it so I picked up a 17L. The 17L is just as accurate as I remembered the 24C was. I love this gun. I didn't realize Glock was still making the 24C as recently as 2009. I haven't seen one in years; I've only seen the 24 recently. Mine was pretty old, I think the serial # started with a B or C. Yes, all standard on the 17L/24/24C The 24C wasn't just a one time limited run. Glock has been making them on and off for years. My 17L, looks the same as the 24C http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q226/Russellgw07/Glock17L10.jpg Quoted:

Are extended mag and slide release and lighter trigger standard like on 34/35s? Yes, all standard on the 17L/24/24C Quoted:
it's a special run of a 1000......the Glock Store has them and explains everything The 24C wasn't just a one time limited run. Glock has been making them on and off for years. I'm already on the hunt for a threaded barrel for it simply because I don't like the look of the ports in it. I won't be changing the sights unless I decide to put a set of GNS on it. The front is a press-fit without the set-screw and I'd rather have the set-screw type. Now I just need to get my 35 finished and start hunting for a RTF22 and a 27 again. |
