| I am buying a glock 19 and i've been looking around and i've seen them labled "fixed sights" and "adjustable sights". I was curious what exactly the difference was. Also i wanted to know if there was any tips to shopping for a G19. For example how can i tell i am not buying an older model etc. |

Adjustable sights means the gun will come with a little screwdriver to adjust the adjustable rear sight. Don't bother since factory Glock adjustable sights are junk and break easy. Easiest way to see if a glock is the newest style is to look at the grip. See if it had finger bumps, and then you know its gen 3. |
Both the fixed and adjustables are easily removed. The factory adjustables are total junk. When I got my 17L I had Heinie sights installed before I fired one round out of the gun. |

Adjustable sights belong only on compeition/range guns. If you're getting the G19 for SD/HD use, get them with fixed stock sights, then knock them off and put XS Big Dot sights on them. Older model G19's will not have a rail no do they have finger grooves. The slide also has a duller matte finish. THey are also a two pin frame. Newer G19's have a shinier finish on the slide, which I think is a bit tougher. They also have finger grooves on the front strap and a rail on them. Three pin frames. |
I have a 2 pin with the above- I was told it is collectable, but I really have no idea. |
