Howdy, I am looking for a replacement barrel to squeeze out any more mechanical accuracy from a Glock 19 (Please no ammo/training comments ). I would assume by having a hand fit barrel I may loose the inherent reliability the Glock has, and that’s fine, but is there any barrel out there that offers more accuracy while still remaining as reliably as factory? If anyone can offer any suggestions as to which would be the best, AND which would be the best value I’d appreciate it. I’m looking for something corrosion resistant, so I’d want a stainless barrel. Lastly, would the factory Glock barrel benefit by being re-crowned? |

A KKM barrel is what I would choose if I were trying to improve a stock Glock's accuracy. They are a drop-in but a very good fit in every case I've seen. And reliable too. But some Glock's don't improve all that much with an aftermarket barrel, even a good one. But some do. And some are already very accurate out of the box. If you buy a good barrel like a KKM and it doesn't improve your gun, you can always sell the gun and try another one of the same model. Then you'll already have the barrel to try in the new one. |

I would first check and see what some reputable smiths charged to install a fitted barrel. BarSto will, I think, still fit their match barrel to your gun and they offer other mods as well. IMO without a fitted barrel you are just taking a chance a drop in will do what you want. Your money... www.barsto.com/category_main.cfm?ID=GLOCK Jarvis also sells match barrels and only charges $45 to fit their barrel in their shop...they only need your slide...for $45 no way I mess with it myself...JMO www.jarvis-custom.com/Products/tabid/53/ctl/ProductDetail/productId/1/mid/388/Default.aspx |

Glocks aren't that inherently accurate to begin with. If I were to go with an aftermarket barrel, It would have to be a hand fitted Barsto barrel as posted above. If your looking for accuracy, I'd have to give that nod to a custom fitted match grade 1911 gun after shooting the Glock and the 1911. |
