I have a Glock 19 gen 3, and when I disassemble the gun I've noticed this piece of metal (not sure the name of it) appears to be bent and I don't believe it is supposed to be. I just noticed it and unsure of how it happened. Any thoughts?

Ok thanks, was worried for a min. Guess I just never acknowledged that it was bent like that. What part is that? And what about the small grinding marks in the back of the slide?

As stated.  It supposed to be like that.  It is the ejector.   Since you have marks on the slide cover plate just becareful when putting the slide back on and get the ejector past it by pulling the slide straight back.

I thought the same thing when I got my first glock.  The ejector is angled like that to throw the brass out the right direction.

Just put your slide on with ease.  You will feel slight resistance from the ejector but just wiggle it past or add pressure until it clears.  You can replace the slide cover plate.  Lone wolf has cool ones.  I have a Punisher skull on one of mine.

They vary in shape depending on the caliber of the pistol.

The 40/357sig is almost straight. If you look at it then at the 9mm you think something is wrong.

I still remember the guy who straightened one with pliers, then asked us if it was normal
