Get the 23 and shoot the hell out of it.

No real need for a C model unless you are really recoil sensitive or have weak wrists .

I don't like compensated guns, never have.

I'm on the other side of the fence. I like the loud noise/flash of the "C" models. Plus if I want the non "C" I just switch barrel.... Can't go the other way....

Thing is the slide cuts allow lint, dirt, dust , whatever to get into the action. I don't need that in a carry gun.

G23!

The 'C' models are for wimps!

Seriously, the 'C' models aren't as practical as you have to deal with the flash at night.  You can't rely on Fiber Optic or Tritium front sights because after a round or two your front sight is blackened by the blast.  In addition, a G23 isn't a recoil monster and a compensated barrel is unnecessary.

In fact, the G19 with +P+ ammo has about the same recoil with smaller, lighter bullets.  Nope, a std G23, TruGlo TFOs, and 13+1 rds of 180grn Gold Dots is a great carry combination.  It's what I use.
