| I went to the range yesterday, shot a couple hundred rounds though the Glock 23 Gen 3. I didn't noticed any problems at the range, but when I got home I took it apart, cleaned it, then went to put the slide onto it I wasn't able to get it on unless I manually reset the trigger. I spent a good amount of time looking at it trying to figure out what was wrong, then when I took the slide apart I noticed the extractor was not whole, it was only half there. Unfortunately I dropped it on the floor and cant find it to post a picture, but was only half there like I said. I'm going to just look online and order one, but has this ever happened to anyone on here? Any idea why it happened? |
| If the extractor broke apart enough to allow the firing pin safety spring to come out or be affected, it may be causing the firing pin safety to bind up and prevent upward travel. This would prevent the trigger bar from settling on the firing pin safety on its own when reassembling. |
