| Looking at all kinds of new pistols. The Glock 26 (9mm) is looking good. Any feelings about that little beauty? |
| Originally I had purchased a Beretta 9000 for carry. I had both it and the Glock 26 on the counter and could have purchased either. Against better judgement I went with the Beretta. 3 Months or so later the Glock 26 was on nightstand duty and has been ever since. When it comes to simple and fast it is hard to beat a Glock. I also have an HK P7M8 which I rate as being the best of the best, however it is cost prohibitive to own more than one. Currently I'm thinking of either a Glock 26 or 36 for the car. |

I have a 26 in my Uncle Mikes IWB holster right now. Makes a perfect little brother to the 17 I carry on duty everyday. It also occasionally gets carried in a vest holster or ankle rig as a backup. I had some problems with the short grip when I first got it, but I got the +2 grip extensions for the mags, and now my pinky has someplace to rest. Never had a problem with any of my Glocks. Love em all! Dave |
| I think it is an awesome pistol! I shoot as well with mine as I do full size pistols, and it conceals great if that happens to be your intention. Mine is fine for me without the finger extensions, but this does seem a problem for some. I really feel, though, it is just a matter of getting used to. I carry mine in a Sidearmorer IWB almost daily. Probably my most frequently shot gun as well. |

I've been eyeballing the G36, and noticed the 26 in the lineup. The 36 will likely be purchased, as it seems about the same as the 26, just a bigger bullet. Although the 26 has it's appeal to me... 9mm would be lighter recoiling, and I buy 9mm by the case, because I already have a few 9mms. The G36 OTOH... I reload .45 and save a buttload doing that. Man... I'm a 1911 lover myself.... also got a nice CZ... I just love steel pistols... steel and wood preferrably... but the Glock slimline is REALLY appealing for a carry gun... plus the G19 is also looking sexy to me... Forgive me John (moses browning), I am sinning!! |

My first one came with adjustable sights, which I thought nice as you could really zero in on target. The grip is a bit short, but as said can be lengthened with an aftermarket floorplate, but that does not increase the magazines capacity over 10 rounds. Never skips a beat and puts 'em where you point it...gives you a nice feeling. |

I have not owned a 26...(yet?) I did have a G27 for a short while. It shot well, handled well, but it bothered me to shoot a 40S&W round out of such a short barrel. I just had this nagging in the back of my mind that I was restricting the potential of the round. Even though I carry a G22, I ended up trading off the 27. If it had been a G26, I may have held on to it since I've never had much faith in the "stopping power" of the 9mm. It would have been a gun that went with me a lot which is better than swinging a cell phone around at thug trying to rob you at knife point. (Not sure if any of that made sense...Letting go of any gun is hard to justify and yet, I do it all the time) I didn't trade the 27 for a 26 because I already have a G19. To me, that's the finest 9mm Glock...But to each his own opinion. If the 26 fits your needs, i'm sure it's a great little pistol. Sly |
| guys be advised that adding mag floorplates that permit loading over 10rds is creating a illegal postban hi cap mag a federal felony good for 5yrs $5000 and loss of gun rights 4 ever wait till sunset then extend them puppys (hi power cap in ppks size is cool)not being pushy just tryin to save major pain |
19 & 17 mags fit in them, but then you're making a small pistol into a big pistol so it sort of defeats the purpose, I guess they might be useful as back up mags. |
