| Tell me why I need one. |

I can't make pocket carry with a G26 work at all. It looks like I'm carrying a brick in my pocket.
Otherwise, the G16 shoots almost as well at its bigger brothers, but has the option of a flush mag, a mag with a GAP floorplate, a mag with a +0 extension, +1 and +2 extensions on the mag, or the 15, 17 and 33 round mags. I ankle carry the 26 with a flush mag, and when I get home and go IWB, I put in a mag with a factory +2 extension. Lots of options with the G26 and it doesn't give up much to the 19. |

If you're carrying a steel 357, the weight should not be much different. The basic difference is that the Glock will feel like a fat wallet, blocky with fewer curves than the revolver.
I normally wear khaki type pants and I make sure they have deep pockets. A little grit tape on the front and backstrap will keep it from slipping if your hands are sweaty but won't tear up your pockets. A G26 will reload easier and faster than a revolver and will carry more ammo. I find it easy to drop a G17 mag into my rear pocket, it's easier to grab and load than a stubby G26 mag and holds 7 more rounds. It's cheaper to shoot a 9mm than a 357 or 38 these days. If you're reloading, it may wash out but factory ammo is cheaper. I shot my G26 in an IDPA BUG (Back Up Gun) match last night and came in 3rd but the most accurate of the match. Not bad for a daily carry gun. |

Combined with the proper holster, the G26 makes a great carry gun. The reliability factor probably influenced me the most in making my decision. It's accurate, feels relatively good in my hand, but it's ugly as a varnished turd. I bought a Comp Tac Infidel holster for mine and couldn't be happier. It has an optional strut available that allows you to tuck in your shirt which is a nice option. I suppose with the right clothing it could be pocket carried, but that just won't work for me. I bought mine NIB off the EE for $440 shipped.

Local fun store has a G26 NIB for $509 plus tax. Not great, but a little better then Academy Sports $529 +tax. I see a few online shops that have it for for around $475 plus shipping. Add the FFL shipping and background check check and i'm close to the $509 saving the cost of tax. I'd like to support the local fun store, but $$ talks. About $50 cheaper so far online.
Can you link to "EE"? Need to buy one, so if anyone wants to suggest a place that has them cheaper, i'm all ears. |

I had one, tried to like it, sold it, bought another one and tried to get comfortable with it - no dice. The design just seemed too chunky for me. Switched to a Walther PPS and like it a hell of a lot better. The Walther P99 compact model is another good alternative, and is lighter than the G26 with the same capacity.

| I carry my 26 daily with +2's in a Comptac Spartan and an extra G17 17 rnd mag on my left in a horizontal carrier. I wear this setup in the Summer with shorts and T-shirts and get by easily. If I try to carry my 19 or 32 it makes a big difference but I'm a big guy too. I have carried the wife's 642 with the crimpson grip and it doesn't differ much from my 26 as far as carry size. If it were me to do all over I would have gotten the 27 and went with the Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel and given myself more options. As it stands, my G26 has a LW barrel and competition slide spring setup. It shoots just as good and accurate as my 17 or 22 long guns but carries awesome. The local store here sells these all day long in any caliber for $499 OTD. |
