I am looking to get rid of my kahr cm9 for a 26, due to the simply fact that I love how my g19 feels in my hand. I've handled many g26's but never shot one.  Basically just looking for some input on how well people like their 26. Talk me into it!! Easy concealed carry is still my goal and the cm9 is amazing at that

I think you will like it. I have spent a lot of time with the G26 but don't own one yet, I do have one coming to me in a couple months from GSSF

The G26 won't disappear on you but I think the size difference is plenty to notice a big difference in carrying. It's shorter on both ends and weighs less but still gives you enough to hold on to and shoot quickly and accurately and the recoil is not bad at all. I would try it with and without the pinky extentions, many say that adding those makes it the same length of a G19 but it's different, they just give your pinky a place to rest but the butt of the gun is still short making it conceal better.

I say go for it, I can't wait fo rmy G26 to get here. Another plus is the G26 can take any Glock 9mm mag from 10 rounds to 33 rounders and it will fit in any G19 holster, it just won't fill it up completely depending on type of holster.

To me they are just like the bigger ones, and it shoots just as well, but in a much smaller package.

I carry the 26 all summer with a OWB Blackhawk holster and nothing but a "T" shirt The combo prints a little but works for me.

I'd just cut the 19 frame down.  You will find that they are a bit harder conceal with the shorter barrel.  Almost all of the weight of the gun will be above the waste if carrying IWB.  The thing that is hard to hide is the grip.  I've always love my 19 but have thought of cutting it down many times.  I just did my 17 over the weekend.  I might get a second frame to do a 26 mod to.

FWIW,  I had a 26.  It shot GREAT.  It was a nice gun to have to throw in my BOB. I wouldn't dismiss one.  I went back to my 19 because of the issues I brought up above.

I carried a G26 for the last 3 years at work (UC LEO) and I shot as well or better than with my G17.  I still carry it today after 8 years of retirement.  Foolproof, accurate, and dependable.

I have been carrying a Glock 26 for 8 months now and I love it. I have Trijicon NS and use a Bladetech gun belt and Vanguard 2 minimalist holster for carry. A lot of people complain about your pinky not having a grip space when not using the pinky extension but I actually do not find it to effect my shooting or being comfortable at all. I will say though that having the pinky extension does give a more mentally reassuring grip to me in regards of retention, but it is either here or there and completely a personal preference. Shooting wise, I have switched to 124 grain for plinking from 115 grain. I just like the way it feels better. I have shot all brands of ammo, defensive and plinker, and have had no failers so far going on 5200 rounds. I love it and could not find a reason to say no to it if you like Glocks. As said before, it is neat to have the magazine compatibility and since you have a G19 already, you have a holster and probably some other accessories.

Get It.

Thanks for all the quick response guys. My buddy just actually said he'd buy my cm9 from me so the 26 is looking to be a part of my future.
Any holster suggestions? I used a Mitch rosen clp for the kahr and liked it

as the owner of a G26 the only thing I dont like about it is the thinkness, but IMO it shoots very well compared to anything smaller. At 6'1' 150 lb there is no way I could conceal a G19 and the 26 does conceal but I look a little funny (one side looks fatter than the other) My dad told me one day I must be gaining weight...I told him I was carrying This was with a button down shirt that was tucked in. An arfcommer would notice right away but non gun people don't seem to notice it.

Another one here who EDCs a G26 as my primary carry pistol (with a G17 mag as a reload in my front weakside pocket). From what I can recall from when I had a G19, recoil is pretty much the same (I traded my G19 Gen3 for a G26 Gen2.5).

I use the GAP floorplate on mine and don't miss the pinky not being able to grab on anything.

I used to have a PM9 and decided to sell it when I realized I could conceal a G26 just as well as the PM9 and carry 28 rounds vs. 14.

No complaints here - easy to shoot, easy to conceal, eats anything I feed it.

I have a Raven Phantom for mine that I love.  I also carry it in a MTAC when I need to carry it IWB.  Sometimes I'll use a Raven Vangaurd II, but not a lot.  It's good for what it's designed to do, but it is not comfortable for all day use.

I have owned 2 and there the best of the baby glocks cause the light recoil there dead on accurate. I own a gen4 22 but my next one is a 26 or possibly a 3rd 19.

Another +1. I shoot the G26/G27 as well as their big brothers. Can't go wrong with one.

I have an early G26 that I have carried for backup when on duty and off duty carry for probably 15 years. Always reliable, accurate, reasonable capacity. I love my G26!

The only issue I have is how thick the gun is. When on duty, I carry it in a holster on my body armor straps on my left side, almost as if it were in a shoulder holster under my duty shirt. Secure and no issues with it moving, even with a few scuffles over the years. The problem is, it prints if I raise or excessively move my left arm, because of the thickness and the blocky, square profile of the butt. I wasn't aware of this till it was pointed out to me a couple weeks ago by one of the guys I work with. If the butt were more rounded and less blocky, I don't think it would be an issue, since it would blend in more with the flow of my duty shirt. When we get our income tax refund back, I'm going to go looking for a S&W Shield 9mm. If I think it's thin enough to greatly reduce or eliminate printing, I'll have a new backup/off duty gun.

For off duty carry, I use a Crossbreed Supertuck at about 4:00-4:30 o'clock, depending on how it rides with the belt loop on my pants. I can conceal it under just a t-shirt with no printing issues. For both backup and off duty carry, I carry either 2 G19 or G17 mags for reloads.

Overall, the G26 is, IMHO, the best of the subcompact 9mm guns. The only issue is the thickness and blockiness. If Glock would come out with a single stack gun the same size as the G26 except for being thinner, or come up with a way to more effectively round and blend the butt on the G26, they would have a major hit on their hands. If you can deal with and effectively conceal the thickness, it's simply the best there is.

I have been carrying a 26 in a Crossbreed Supertuck, in the 4 oclock position for nearly 2 years.  The Supertuck and a 26 are a great combo on me.  The holster is comfortable, the 26 is unoticeable, and I do tend to forget that its on me.  I wear it all day long, in and out of a pickup.

I carried the holster in different positions, and moved the belt clips around until i finally found,  the 4 oclock sweet-spot for my liking. It took a couple days for the holster to "mold" itself to my body.

My take :

I don't buy 9mm Glocks since their 40's run 357 sig and 9mm so well.

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_5_13/132826_Any_of_the__40_9mm_conversions_that_YOU_would_trust_your_life_with_.html

I own 2 G22s, 2 G27s, 1 G23, and 1 G35.      I also own 1911s, including a Gold Cup, Sigs , Browning, and revolvers.

The G27/26 is compact.   My Khar PM9 is more compact and more concealable.    The PM9 is about like what I would expect a single stack G26 to end up like or slightly better.    Still, there is a reason I also own 2 Kel Tec P3ATs, 2 Ruger LCPs, and 2 AMT Back Up 380s.  (The AMTs are retired from carry though. Too heavy.)

I can do things with the P3AT and LCP that even the PM9 can't match.   The 380s are smaller and 50% lighter than even the PM9.

My advice?  "Get both."   Don't sell the CM9 for the G26.      Keep the CM9... AND buy a G27 to run 40, 357sig, and/or 9mm.

How do you carry?  I pocket carry my PM9 (same size as the CM9) but there's no way you'd want to pocket carry a G26.  The G26 is a fantastic little gun though.  I would keep the CM9 and get the G26.

I carry the cm9 in a Mitch rosen clp holster at the 4 o'clock position and its like its not even there. Would carry the 26 at the same spot. I may just hang on to the cm9 for now and in march/April when the fde 26's get released pick one up

I love my G26. It's currently serving a beloved family member of mine. It shoots more accurate for me than any other nine I've owned, even full sized models.

I carried mine in a Don Hume H710 - extremely comfortable and priced right.  I did carry it in an Infidel holster for awhile, until I sat down in the waiting room at the pediatrics and the armrest of the chair bumped the holster off my belt and out into the floor.  Don Hume leather from then on out.

I use these too for warm months.....

With sweater or jacket I stick the factory extended mag in for the pinky rest and extra round

I am in a similar quandry myself...............I am looking for a ccw pistol, and have narrowed it down to the G26, Beretta Nano and the CW9. I had thought about going toward .380, but would rather have the 9mm, and possibly buying a .380 later for summer carry. I can get a really reasonable price on the G26 and have found the Nano for 429 and the CW9 for 409...........decisions, decisions

My wanting of a g26 is because that the glock grip is natural for me. Feels comfortable in my hand and comes up very good for me. I shoot my cm9 good but it just doesn't have a comfortable grip. But I'm made mind up to keep my cm9 and get a g26

I love my 26. Just as accurate as my 17 or 19, but much shorter in the grip length so it doesn't print at all.

I've been carrying one daily for going on fifteen years.

It's lightweight, small, holds 11 rounds, and it handles and aims just like a 19.

Having mag compatibility with my other guns is a big advantage to me.

I've shot the 26 in IDPA a couple times and was happy with its performance.

I have been carrying the G26 for the past 12 years at work (IWB, ankle, and RH hip carry).  Mine has never malfunctioned, and is as accurate as I need.  Great little gun with a proven track record.  Some argue it is a little chunky, but that is because it is a 12+1 gun (with extended base pad).  The fact that they can use the 15, 17, and 33rd mags is an added bonus that other competitors just can't match.

The 26 is awesome. It is super versatile as you can always add to the grip to make it bigger and you can always use larger mags with it should you wish. Given this, you have the option of having a small gun that can be tweaked to make it larger.

Yes you can pocket carry it in certain pants. Ankle carry though not ideal can also be done without issue.
