Just ordered a Scherer 3.5 connector for my Glock 26, should I have purchased any lighter springs as well?

Not necessarily. The 3.5 connector can be used as a replacement for the factory connector all by itself. See how you like that before you go any lighter.

Competition trigger springs can be added to further reduce the pull weight. A lot of people will recommend the .25 trigger job to smooth things out a bit. You can also get into reduced power striker/firing pin springs with the caveat that you must test you pistol and make sure you are getting reliable ignition.

All this on a G26, which I assume you are using as a CCW gun, may be ill advised. I like my G26 with the factory connector and spring.

My G32/G27(my carry pistols) I run it with a 3.5 connector and the NY1 spring it feels better and I get better groups with it over the standard Glock connector and spring.  In my G21SF and my G34 I run a 3.5 connector and a 6lb trigger spring for the lighter trigger pull.
