Talk me in or out of this gun. I have only full size glocks (g21sf, g22, g17) but dont own a sub compact. I would like to be able to carry something smaller than a full size and  that is why I am interested in this particular glock.

Pros/cons? Are they easy to control? Thats a big round coming out of a small gun.

Thanks

I have had a G30 for about 13 years, and I carry it pretty much every day.  It shoots great, comfortable to carry, and always goes bang when I pull the trigger.  I am considering trading it in for a G30SF, because of the smaller grip.  Since you already have a G21SF, it is pretty much a no brainer.  Good luck!!!

I have owned both the G29 and G30 (non SF) and found then to be great shooters,
EZ to shoot for me and I have small to medium sized hands.
I just bought a G21 SF and its one of softest 45's I ever shot...

Thanks for the replys.

I love shooting my 21sf because like you said it just shoots smooth...

the G29/30 are not considered sub-compacts as they are closer in size to the G19/23/32 than to the G26/27/33. glock calls them compacts. i have a G29 for CCW in bear country and love it. i would suggest a pearce grip extension for a full hand grip. carry a G21 mag for a reload.  the G30 is known for very excellent accuracy!

While I agree with what you are saying about the Glock 30  Glock does list the Glock 30 as a subcompact.

I carry my 30sf  most of the time in the colder weather when heavier cloths are needed and a 23 in tee shirt weather. Milt Sparks VM2's for both. I think the 30 is a tad nicer to shoot than the 23 and it's very accurate. You won't get a smoother, lighter and indestructable 45 in another package IMHO.

I have a 30SF.  I really like it.  The only downside is that it hangs up with my cast SWC bullets.  My 21SF just eats them right up.  Other than that the 30SF is good to go!  It shoots fine with cast turncated cone bullets.

Yeah I know, don't shoot lead in Glocks....you'll blow your gun up....don't shoot lead out of the factory barrel...and so on.  I found that hard, properly sized and lubed bullets shoot very well out of the stock barrels.  I've been doing it for 2 decades out of Glocks and quite a bit longer out of other guns.

I agree with the sentiment here. The 30 is my favorite Glock. Wife bought me one for my birthday 8 years ago and it has been my ccw since. Love my 30, only thing that would replace it is a 30sf.

yep, they sure do now. i think they used to call it a compact? any way it is 24oz unloaded compared to the G17 at 22oz unloaded, certainly not a lightweight!

Quick question,

Would a barrel out of a G21sf fit in the G30sf? The reason I ask is I have a lone wolf barrel that is threaded for my G21sf and it might be cool to shoot the can on this gun.
If not I could just spend the extra $$$ and get a threaded barrel for the G30
