Can a extended slide stop be installed on the G36?

Good question.  Installing an extended slide stop was the only mod that I ever made to my G36 that made it stop working properly.  Once I replaced the original factory slide stop, it worked fine again and has worked flawlessly since.  My advice is simply to get yourself used to the factory slide stop and you'll be fine.

I just bought a new slide stop for my g19 and I think I remember the factory description saying fits all model except g36.

That would mean the slide stop on the g36 is unique and you'd have to find an extended slide stop specifically for the g36.

No. The G36 slide stop lever is unique to that particular model. Although GLOCK does not make one for the G36, there may be an aftermarket company that does.

Sure. Gotta tweak the bends and file the tab that's hit by the follower...

Why was it that they made this one particular model with a different slide stop?

I love my 36.....

but it does seem like it is the "exception to rule" in alot of cases.

Glock doesn't make one but it sounds like some folks know how to fit one from another model. I tried an Aro-Tek on a 2003 model 36 and... jam-O-Matic. Sold it. Worst thing you could do. I bet the new model 36s are much better too. I say live with it. Sorry, I have a Glock part on my 30SF and it's nice. Smooth against the thumb riding up and solid and positive on the way down without too much bulk.

Love mine too but it is the red-headed stepchild.

I have one on mine, don't remember where I got it or the make.  It works fine, the only problem is my grip. If gripping high withe thumbs forward, I tend to push it up and lock the slide back before the mag is empty.

I would have reisntalled the factory slide stop if I could find it.

It's their only single stack gun.  The geometry of the frame is different.

I put a Glockmeister extended stop on mine.  No issues...works great.
