I contacted Glock about upgrading my Gen 2 G21 frame, they answered quickly and I understand everything, except for one item.  The way I understand the PDF.....since I live in SC they can ship it directly to my home.....they list about 6 states that must be shipped to FFL and a copy must be on file etc. etc.  Since I'm not in either of those states.....can they ship it directly to me.  I was under the impression that anything with a serial # had to go to my FFL.   Can anyone comment on this from experience.  Thanks

Since it's going back to the manufacturer they can ship it back to your door. I received my G42 back to my door when I needed some parts upgraded and night sights installed

Most states you can ship a rifle or hand gun to the manufacturer for repair.  They can ship directly back.  I used to do it in California.

Same with a silencer.

This, when I got some lowers engraved they go right to THSF, and right back to me. Which is how it should be.

If I buy a gun online, there's no reason why the online FFL shouldn't be able to do a background check, and ship it right to me.

Some years ago I did with ruger.

Shipped them a 10/22 receiver that was damaged.  They shipped me a brand new one.

In the past, GLOCK has just added a letter or number to your original serial number to show a replacement. I had a G30 back in the day that was part of the E-series recall. Came back with the same serial number but a -1 after it, or something like that.

There is an exception in the law to allow this.

A new frame will typically come with G prefix.

IMO you should sell your g2 frame and buy a g3 frame, not upgrade it.

No? how would they verify your identity? Sure you've got a drivers license, but they're not seeing you in person to verify you are who you say you are.  If the 4473 was available online to be done remotely it'd be very easy for someone to spoof the info and then have a firearm shipped directly to them.
Sorry, I'm not seeing how it would work.
