I'm just curious, and I haven't been able to locate this information with the search feature.  What years did the generation changes happen?  Thanks.

1st gen = 1986* - 1989
2nd gen = 1989 - 1998
3rd gen = 1998 - current

*US models, production started in Europe = 1982

Nice, thanks.  I didn't know 3rd gens had been out so long.  I appreciate the info.

Wasn't there a generation 2.5 Glock 19 that had the finger grooves but not the rail?  I will post a photo if I find one.

Nope, that's the way the came.  I have one just like it.  It's the most comfortable Glock grip ever made.
