Has anyone worn out or broken a factory Glock magazine?

If you broke it, how did it happen?  If you wore it out, how many times was it loaded and fired?

During the 1994 ban, did anyone ever return a high capacity magazine to Glock for repairs?  How did that turn out?  I know that repair kits are available with new floorplates, springs, and followers so I am more concerned about magazine body failures.

Thanks.

I've had a couple magazines where the feed lips spread apart but 98% of the mag failures I've encountered could be fixed with a new spring and follower.

Regarding the feed lip spreading problem, were these magazines left fully loaded for a long time, or just used a lot?

Thanks for the help.

The one stupid panic-buy I made was a broken OEM G17 mag for $10. I thought I could fix it, but it seems to me to be beyond repair. Due to some damage, the metal shell is separating from the plastic body. I'll see if I can post some pictures to explain.

Durring the ban I had two mags separate at the feed lips.
Don't know how many times it took until they separated but I'm sure it was well beyond the exspected life of the mags.

I think I remember some people sending in the mags with the feed lips separated but glock ran out of pre 94 mag bodies and then people were SOL.

The magazines of any weapon system is the weak link and most militaries consider mags as replaceable wear and tear items.

I just shaved the plastic with a razor and the mags still worked.

Just used a lot. These were "training" magazines and weren't left loaded. They were used, dropped, and stepped on. They weren't cared for or babied.
