I have a few questions but i dint want to start a bunch of topics so ill bunch it all together, First off I just bought a Glock 23 and im looking at buying the lone wolf 9mm threaded conversion barrel but from everything iv read you dont need a 9mm conversion spring, is this true? It seems to me that you would need a lighter spring since 9mm has lighter recoil, although they are a faster round so maybe not. Also im going to be making custom comps for it and i read on the lone wolf site that they recommend a lighter spring when using a comp, Is this necessary for functioning when using a comp on the 9mm barrel? Also im debating adding a tasco or burris fastfire red dot to replace the rear sight, will a different recoil spring be needed if a sight is installed and the 9mm barrel with comp? Does anyone have any tips as far as the red dots? Lastly does anyone know the general value of a used Generation 1 G17 thats lightly used (private sale)? Thanks a lot

No, you don't need a different recoil spring when you use a conversion barrel in this.  My G23 w/  LWD conversion barrel (9mm) runs 100% with only the barrel and a 9mm extractor (optional for most folks) and of course 9mm mags.

The recoil spring assembly for the G23 and G19, you see, is identical.  19 lb. springs, both of them.

No experience with true comps on 9mm barrels on Glocks, although I don't see why you'd need to change spring weights.  Don't know much about it though.

As far as the red dot, if you mean a small (Docter) sized one that replaces the rear sight, no, that by itself won't affect timing or slide movement.

A slightly used G17 Gen 1?  Well, they're not too common anymore, and therefore somewhat desireable I think.  I'd say 450-500.
