i was in a tight situation with getting a glock or a beretta but my friend is getting rid of his 3rd gen OD green glock 17 and he said hed sell it to me for 380 with 6 clips. i know this is a good deal so im not gunna pass it up. i might just get a beretta to but what kind of accuracy can i expect from a glock 17 at lets say about 25 yards? if i do my part?

Clips??? 25 yards: you should be hitting paper plates with most if not all of your mag.

im sorry let me rephrase  a glock 17 with 6 mags.  for 380$

I have found that Glocks accuracy are entirely up to the user.  Glocks out of the box are good shooters and generally hit where you aim but the angle of the grip can mess w/ a lot of shooters.  Good correction on the clips vs. mags wording too.

Glock are inherently accurate. Of course some ammo is more accurate than others but it is mostly a matter of mastering your shooting technique. For most people, the consistent Glock trigger pull would be easier to shoot accurately than the traditional DA pull of the Beretta's.

yeah i have dry fired the glock but i havnt fired live rounds through it and the trigger felt like it would be easy to get use to unlike the berettas because its always consistant on the glock.not like the da/sa.. so lets say i get my technique down and all that stuff. is it really accurate or just mediocre for a pistol?

+1

i have seen some other brands of combat style HGs that are more accurate, but glocks are just about as accurate as you can get or as any practical shooter out there

You're an idiot.

That being said, a Glock is PLENTY accurate for any "combat" situation.

I personally feel that a Beretta 92fs might have more mechanical accuracy, but you'd have to be a damn good shot to realize the difference.

The only time my GLOCK misses is when I screw up...

Nowadays, do any of the major manufacturers make 'inaccuate' firearms? I can't think of anything I own where I might say, "nah, I don't shoot that much cause it's not accurate enough."

Granted, I'm not a bullseye shooter. I shoot paper targets center-mass/head shots and then move on to bowling pins, coke cans, fruit, vegtables, and brass casings/shotgun hulls.

i am one of the people that can't shoot a glock well. i can shoot pretty much any other pistol fairly well, but glocks simply don't work for me. i do like them. i just can't hit anything with em.

I have shot both and own a beretta96. I like them both and both are about equal .

I have 6 GLOCKS and they are all very accurate. To be realistic, most modern firearms are as accurate as the shooter. The main advantage of the GLOCK as I see it, is they are so damned reliable. Pull trigger, go bang.

It's a great deal and you better pounce.  A glock is about as accurate as a vice.  If you could seriously lock a glock 100% into place and have it shoot without it moving, you could probably make every hole touch at 25 yards.  That being said, it's just as accurate as you are.  I know for damn sure that my G19 is more accurate than me and that's grouping 3-5" at 25 yards.

What forum is this again?  Glock.

Get the Glock.

Anyways accuracy is all about the shooter.

I have a G-17 and a 92FS and I think that they are both GREAT guns...
As far as accuaracy goes I do not see much difference.  As far a quality goes I dont see much difference.  As far a reliability goes I still dont see any difference.

I like the feel and trigger and lack of thumb operated safety of the GLOCK better.
I do a lot of IDPA type of shooting and feel that the GLOCK is much better for that type of shooting.
I can get more holes in the targets quicker with the GLOCKS than I can with the 92FS.
I also use a G-21 (.45) and it too is great.
My vote is for GLOCK but the 92 are very good also.

I'll back up that statement.  My Glocks have been plenty accurate -- certainly more than enough for 25 yards.  I think that the trigger tends to be the limiting factor.

My Beretta is much more accurate for me though.

I love both.  I've got 3 Glocks and want more.  I've got 1 Beretta and want more.
