Does Glock produce these or would I have to fo after market?

Glock does offer a factory threaded barrel (G17Pro).

But AFAIK,. they're only available over seas (Finnish market).

You can always buy a Glock barrel and have it cut and threaded. If you're going to suppress a Glock 19, you can buy a Glock 17 barrel. If it's for a 17, than get a 34 barrel..etc.

You cannot run a G17  barrel in the G19 the compact and subcompact are different.  You can do the 34 to 17 or the 19 to 26 but not the 17 to 19.

What are the legalities of having a barrel imported?

Barrel is not considered "THE FIREARM" the frame is considered "THE FIREARM" in a Glock and in almost all pistols.  So should not have any problems.

thanks for the responses guys.

It's now time to look for oversea sellers I guess.

Keep in mind in some overseas markets the Barrel is considered the Firearm.  It wont effect the legality of you owning it in the US but who knows.  I would buy an aftermarket and be done with it.  Just my 2 cents

I would but I've heard that the aftermarket barrels lock up tighter or have tighter tolerances, which make the gun less reliable.

That might be horse shit though. Idk, I would just feel better having a factory barrel in my G19.

since you can order barrels from over seas get a bunch of them from China! They'll be cheap!

Even parts have strict import regulations and could land you in serious hot water if you are not careful.

Well, that sucks. I guess I won't risk it then.

If there are regs, would it not be best to find out what they are, and see if it is in fact doable, rather than risk it on one hand, or simply give up on the other?  Off to post in the legal section...

Thanks a lot man. That's good to know.

I am hoping someone knowledgeable weighs in in the other thread with some reference to regs, ATF letters, customs, something.  Once that occurs, next step is to find someone in Finland...

Pretty sure it is the same set of rules that stop you from exporting optics and gun parts.

The name of it escapes me at the moment.

ive tried searching the web for somebody over seas that had the factory threaded barrels for sale but i never did find one...just get a glock 34 barrel threaded if your worried about an aftermarket one...

ITAR is what I was thinking of. It covers all the export and I am pretty sure this would fall under that.
Just a guess though

Correct.  That was BAD information, thank you for posting what was correct, Edgecrusher.

Indeed, seems it's difficult to get a Glock factory threaded barrel.  Most just go with an aftermarket unit.  With a bit of fitting and chamber reaming (if necessary), they can run just as reliably as stock barrels.

It doesn't make sense to me that Glock wouldn't bring a factory threaded barrel to the U.S.

Hopefully sometime in the near future they decide to do so.
