I just recently installed at set of Ameriglo night sights on my Gen 4 G17, the first time I went to the range to get use to them, when I started shooting the gun failed to lock back on the last round which had never happened before to that particular gun, I tried all my mags and it was the same in all. Then only reason I could think of that would cause this would be the weight of the new sights and the ammo I was using which was the cheap steel cases stuff that is under powered. I'm going to see if it keeps doing this with my brass cased stuff this week, but wanted to see if anyone had heard of this problem.

Most likely the ammo ( you have a relatively stiff recoil spring assembly)....or of course your thumb hitting the lever

Keep your thumb off the slide stop.  Happens to a lot of people.

Light ammo - slide moves back far enough to pick up a fresh round but not far enough to lock slide

This. Your sights have zero to do with the problem...
