Glock frames > Glock

I read somewhere that if you wanted an OD frame but have a Black frame that you can send your gun to Glock and they will switch the Black frame out for an OD frame. Any merit to this?

Just out of curiosity, do you think Glock would pop out an OD Gen3 frame for someone right now as they're ramping up for Gen4?

I doubt they have a shortage of them. They have to warranty them and there are a few cases I know of when glock replaced a frame under warranty

Perhaps there should be a frame swapping thread on the EE or somewhere. I imagine shipping and transfer costs would be less than the $150 that Glock would get.

Just called Glock and they do not swap black frames for OD frames or vice versa. Only black for a black or OD for an OD. Oh well, I guess there is still Duracoat and what not.

San Antonio, Have a G34 frame or a G19 frame I'd be willing to trade. The 19 has the extended slide release and mag release and stock trigger, the 34 has both and a 3.5 lone wolf connector

GEN3 is still in production.

I know. Just wasn't sure if Gen3 OD was still in production and if they'd still be bothering with frame swaps on the Gen3. Apparently they won't swap colors anyway.
