I Sharpie'd mine so I didn't have to remove it.  You'll have to reapply occasionally.

Something that's about .160 tall and has a notch of .140 or wider.
IIRC those are the stock dimensions for the front sight and rear notch...
Feel free to correct me...

Well, since Ol Don has been taken care of...........the best bet if you want a blacked out rear is the Ameriglo sights plain rear sight. Decent price, every height available. I have used them, and they are good to go. Just google "Ameriglo".

I recently re-evaluated available sight options since my eyes are getting older.  I'm getting a set of Ameriglos, with their pro front with the extra ring around the tritium.  Since they are so cheap, I got a couple different width blacked-out rear sights to play with.  I really like that Ameriglo posts all the sight dimensions, so you can quickly tell what you are going to need.  I'm keeping everything stock height.

I concur. Ameriglo is my current go to for any sight needs I have. I like the black rear or 2 dot rear with a front night sight. Most of my pistols I buy with plain 3 dot sights and then get an Ameriglo Tritium front to replace the front dot sight. I have never had any problem with any of their sights. One of my pet peeves with sights is how another popular manufacturers nightsight body goes from black to silver/gold in about a day of carry. Whatever Trijicon uses to blacken their sights SUCKS. I have NEVER had that problem with any Ameriglo sight. They stay flat black and retain their black coating about the longest of all the sight manufacturers I have used.
