HOORAY!!! So I went and put a Glock 17 on layaway.... Yeah, Buddy!! But the shop was ought of 'em so he is gonna order one in for me. He asked whether I wanted regular sights or the adjustable for $20 more. I figured, what the hell, let's go adjustable, but later I remembered seeing old Police G17's on Gunbroker with Night sights. Can Glocks be ordered with night sights or is that an aftermarket thing? Also, is it worth it to get night sights versus adjustable? I plan on using as a plinker, a home defense gun and perhaps a carry gun. Eventually, I will probably put a light on it as well.
What say ye?

Here's my $0.02

Fixed night sites for a tactical gun (like a G17) and adjustable sight for a competative, or potentially competative pistol, such as the long slides or the refined 1911's.  For night sights I recommend the Mepros over the Trijicons due to being a bit brighter. Also, go with green on green, rather than a green front and red or orange rears. Different front/rear colors is nice for slightly faster target aquisition, but the red a orange don't last as long as the green.

Who are the stock Glock Night sights made by?

Actually, I "think" they are Mepros, but don't hold me to that.  My Glocks came with standard sites, so I added Mepros myself.  If nobody here can tell you, I'd call Glock and ask them to be sure.

my 2nd gen G21 has stock glock night sights--they are Meps

i'd opt for the night sights, but i'd get a set of the screwed in front sight--such as from trijicons or heinis- (vs pressed/staked)  ones like the factory glock

you said home defense and a carry gun.  Without a doubt I'd say get the night sights.  Mepro and Trijicon are both great choices.

The only reason that I would recommend the adjustable over night sights is if you were going to use it for competitive shooting

get the night sights!
