| I have a gen 3 17 TB that I'm considering sending off to have some forward slide serrations done. Since it is a factory slide, I think I would prefer the style that leaves the factory engraving in place. Who would yall suggest and about how much does this usually cost? Thanks |
ATEi here in Michigan is where I'd send it. They can add serrations, mill for RMRs, and refinish your slide.

Thanks for the replies. I like the look of both with and without the factory engraving. As long as it is left fully intact or completely removed.
I have a m&p pro with some aftermarket slide work that the previous owner had done that removed some letters and left others. It looks terrible. |

Love Jagerwerks. Slide package starts at $200. But the way they cut theirs, it takes the factory markings off. Which is why I used them. I think it looks like ass when the serrations go around the markings. No markings: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d155/twpayne75/20161001_170301_zps0u8sdw67.jpg Not to thread jack - but that's a great looking gun. Polymer refined did the frame work? Thinking of getting the puzzle matrix done on my 17, how's the texture? |

I sent a couple slides to Fire 4 Effect for some simple windows cut in the slides. Fast turnaround. Nicely done. Actually really cheap relatively. Even gave me a call before starting the mill to chat, ask what I was looking for, how I wanted them done, anything special they should know, etc. I'm happy with them.

| Since you are in AL I recommend GA Firing Line in Marietta, GA. Andy, their gunsmith, does great work on machining and Cerakote. Check them out at GA Firing Line or on Facebook. |

Polymer refined did the frame work? Thinking of getting the puzzle matrix done on my 17, how's the texture? It feels awesome. Had him do everything he can do to a G19 except cut the grip to G26 size. The Infinity ledge flats feel great, still look a bit odd to me though. The grip reduction, although not making a big difference dimensionally, makes a huge difference in the hand. I had to pull the very bottom of the grip out slightly to put the Agency magwell on, but it turned out great. The texture is very aggressive. You can forget it slipping. I carry AIWB and I thought I had enough fur that it wouldn't bother me, I was wrong. The first hour was fine. The second and third hour was rough, by the fourth hour it felt like it was eating me alive. I stuck a piece of a paper towel behind it for the rest of the day. When I got home that night I got a piece of VERY fine sandpaper and ran across the side a couple times EXTREMELY light. Just barely hit it. I also did on the outside just to make it easier on my shirts. I left the front and back untouched. Feels amazing in the hand. Can't recommend Kent enough. He received mine on Tuesday afternoon, it was back in my hand on Saturday of the same week. He is one of those you can email at midnight on a Sunday, not expecting to hear anything back till Monday or Tuesday, and him email you back 10 minutes later.
When I first got it back. If you want any specific pictures, just pm me. |

He's a great guy and doesn't put his name on anything he wouldn't carry into war himself. |

There is really no need to change spring weight unless you want to. You don't lose as much as you think you would. |

No changes, as noted by another member. I had the rears cut a bit deeper, front serrations, and even had the whole top cut up with serrations too. Same factory duel captured Recoil spring as before. As for getting the work done, also as mentioned above, I'd go with Doug over at ATEI. I've had work done by him, had friends and family have work done by him, always happy customers. He used to have Chad from Sweaty, Muddy, Bloody doing all of his grip work, but from my understanding, Chad no longer does it anymore. It's a shame too as Chad did the best grip work I've ever seen. I've had a grip chop done, grip reductions, 360° stippeling, undercuts, and forward stippeling done by Chad. I do my own undercuts now, but still am not ready to try stippeling on my own yet though. |
