.us is what you want. It's a community of incredible 1911 builders that give lots of money to charity through their works.

This is the correct link:
Louder Than Words

It's louderthanwords.us

Not .org or .com

This can be an expensive place to visit..

Nice! Thanks for the replies. The Dan Wesson CBOB is at the Smith now. He recommended the gold bead and it sounded good, just never seen one.

Gold bead is where it's at.  When the tritium finally dies on my Miller, it's being replaced with a gold bead.  They shine bright and never fade.

Only as long as there is SOME ambient light to reflect.

They can throw your aim off for real accuracy work (like Bullseye).

I have a gold bead front on a Wilson built and a Nighthawk , both fronts are Novak. Gold bead up front , black rear, only way to go. Check M1911.org and click on an article " sights you can see" and they are some good pics.

If there's NO ambient light, then you better have NODS or a light for target indentification.

While I can see the appeal of a gold bead or an ivory one, I don't see how anybody can say they work better at night than tritium.

My S&W "Gunsite" model pistol has a brass-insert front sight - sort of like a gold bead.
