After looking at them for awhile I finally went to the fun store today and got one. I take my 2 year old for bicycle rides and my regular carry pieces (G23 and S&W 6906) print somewhat when I'm bent over the handlebars. With hot weather and tank tops coming up pretty soon, this gun looks like it'll be just the ticket in the front pocket. I know this isn't the right place for this kind of question but can anyone recommend a pocket holster. I looked at an Uncle Mikes and kinda liked it but I'd like to hear first hand experience with others. Can't wait to get out and put some rounds through it. I've always been a S&W guy at heart (this one makes 7) and it felt goood to get another |
| My favorite hands down pocket holster for the J frame is by Mika. Second best from my experience is the Nemesis from DeSantis. Let me say however that I have only tried these two since "graduating" from the Uncle Mikes many years ago. The key is a holster that won't move around and I find either of the two above is stable enough that the grip of the gun is always in the same place when you reach for it. The Uncle Mikes doesnt do that by a long shot. Good luck and enjoy those bike rides...thats what is really all about anyway! |

Thanks VooDoo. I DO enjoy the rides and my boy loves it. I looked at the Nemesis last night and it looks promising. Bob, I hadn't considered a fanny pack but after thinkin about it, I don't have room on the bike for much more than a bottle of water so maybe the fanny pack would pull double duty for a small snack, first aid stuff, etc. Thanks for the suggestions. |
And keys, wallet, $$$, band-aid(s), cell phone, etc. etc. etc. I use a nylon pack for riding. Good, solid 2" belt going around my waist isn't gonna shake loose if I happen to fall or get knocked off. I wear mine in the 9:00 position or so. That way its out of the way of my tummy if I'm bent over peddling. ![]() A small J-frame allows one to get a much more discreet fanny pack as well, IMO. |
