A friend just called after removing the main spring houseing from his Para 14, when he put it back together and racks the slide the hammer follows the slide home. Whats wrong? Whats the fix? Thanks in advance.

Remove and reinsert, the trick is to ensure the hammer is pulled back (which makes it more difficult to insert the MSH).

Most likely, the sear spring is not properly installed. Remove the msh and ensure that the sear spring is properly placed before reinserting the msh.
