I'm in search for some new grips for one of my 1911's. My Colt Commander is wearing its stock grips that measure out to about ..252 and they're perfect.
so far i've tried grips that are too thin (and flat) that are .162 and .170 in thickness. I've also tried grips that are too thick that measure out at . 296 and .304. ideally i'd like to find grips that are in the .250 ish range. unfortunately i've been unable to find very many manufacturers who post grip thicknesses. I'd also like them to be flat bottomed to match up to the magwell thats installed. Can anyone suggest any grips that are in the thickness i'm looking for? Material doesn't matter. thanks |

Okay, Hogue makes one of the very few walnut 1911 grips that come to a sharp edge front and back. I sold a set I had, and it's one of those sales that haunts you...they were double-diamond checkered with 20 LPI checkering.
