I stopped by a store earlier to look at a 10mm. The fella working was one of those guys that just knows everything.
So i make the comment that i wish they would make a compact 10mm like the G19. His reply was "The recoil would be
to much."  Im standing there thinking they make a sub compact, why would there be less control with a little more grip.
Also the prices were so bad i ran for my life and my wallet.

$560 for a g19 and 9mm blazer aluminum case bullets for $16 a box.

Obviously he was & IS an idiot.

The Model 29 is Glock's baby 10mm. Recoil is noticeable, but not unreasonable. Otherwise they would never sell any. Duh.

As for ammo, NEVER buy from a gun shop unless you're headed straight to a gun fight. Check out the Gerogia Arms web site for ammo. I buy my 10mm stuff from them as well as all my other calibers.

Just browsing Im in SC that store was in NC. If you buy one in NC you have to have it transfered. I was shooting the shit while the wife was shopping.
I was just surprised how high everything was.

Not all gun shop guys are that way. You just need to find a shop were they sell you what you want and not what they have.
I stood at the gun counter today with this on my belt.

I know how you feel.  I called a gun shop for a Glock and the guy wanted to sell me a XD45.  I said wanted a G17 or G22 and he said no the XD's are better and that is what I like to sell...but I have a G17 with fixed sights for $789.99.(No Bullshit guys that is the price he quoted) I fucking hung up on him.

Reflection on comment about "too much recoil".  The guy does not understand human ergonomics.  If you use proper ergonomics, there is minimal "recoil" felt from any hand or arm supported firearm.

Here is a test that you should apply to any purported shooting expert.  Can he walk and simultaneously load his firearm, shoot accurately, drop a magazine and reload and continue on.  If he cannot, then he doesn't understand human ergonomics.

Examine how a boxer stands, a dancer, a martial artist.  Try to understand that if you shoot styles like FBI squat, iscosceles, (spelling), bullseye, you are fighting against a proper stance.  Will you feel "recoil"?  Oh yes.  If you shoot Weaver stance, you will not have a consistent stance either.

Now you get a clerk who doesn't understand concepts like framing, indexing and platform and he is just rapping.

Yeah my whole thing was he said the 10mm has to much recoil to be put it in a compact(smaller)  but they already make a sub compact(small as hell).
I said something to him to that effect and he said they also just wouldnt be that popular. Yeah cause everybody hates the G19 worst glock made.

I was getting all kinds of advise from people about the recoil and how it's stout . I bought the gun above with some ammo and headed to the range. Two guys I shoot with doubted my purchase till we shot it . I had to fight them off they were burning up all my ammo.
The three of us agreed the recoil was no worse than the compact alloy framed 1911 in 45 I had.  You will like this gun.

i agree the 10mm is an awesome shooter and recoil is not bad at all. but most store baught ammo for the 10mm is weak. put some hot worked up loads and you will feel a difference...lol.

The models 19 and 29 are damn near the same size anyways. (19) O.L. is 174mm the (29) is 172mm, the  height is 127mm(19) & 113mm (29). width is 30mm (19) & 32.5mm (29).

The same thing happened to me when I was looking at my glock except I was there in person. I asked to see a Glock 23 and instead he whips out a Springfield. I was like WTH, I said I wan't to see a glock. And his response was, this is better than a glock. Yeah, I went somewhere elso to make my purchase.

Ask him for that 10mm XD. XDs are nice, but I wanted a 10mm, and I didn't want to blow a grand on a Dan Wesson... though I probably will in the future.
