I went to the big show at the Reliant arena here in Houston yesterday with some disposable income. I was in the market for some forend wood for one of my Garands and a polymer hi-cap 9mm for the nightstand. I was debating between the XD9, FNP9 and S&W M&P. I saw all of them at the show, although the FNP was a .40 caliber, and ended up finding a XD9 on the last row after 3 hours of touring the 2000 tables. It is one of the typical XD kits with pistol, 2 16rd mags, holster, mag holder and loader. The date on the test cartridge envelope was 3/27/06 so it is right on the edge for melonite. The price was $420 cash. I am looking forward to getting this to the range and trying it out. I am planning on a XML for it and, depending on how the trigger works for me, a trigger job. Does anyone know of a source for the 16rd mags. CDNN is out of stock and I would like another one.

My XML and mag came today. I checked out the house and back yard after dark with this setup and I really like the combo. It has a good amount of light even across the 25 yards to the plants and vines at the back fence. If anyone has any user reports on how they hold up under shooting conditions I would appreciate hearing about it.
