I am thinking about taking my Hi power to a smith for a few modifications. Off the top of my head, trigger job ~4 lb, remove the mag disconnect, bevel the magwell, combat safety, maybe sights change to novak or heinie. Most of the gunsmiths in my area have refused to work on this pistol, the magazine disconnect is seen as an unreasonable liability to them. So Cylinder and Slide, Novak, Garthwaite, and a few others are my options. Would anyone care to offer there experiences/recommendations?

| I think you have most of the known BHP smiths named other than Don Williams IIRC. I'd recommend sending your pistola to a Smith who specializes in BHP's but, if you need some stuff done locally, you might consider dropping in a C&S combat trigger or Garthwaite type that lack the provision for the mag safety. |
