Probably a most sensitive issue for most, might I recommend a search. I am quite certain that there will be a number of threads on this from the past.

Been carrying for a few months now. No, Fortunately I have not had to pull it out. I hope and pray I never will. Pulling it out is my very last resort.

I have been legally carrying for 14 years.  I have never had to pull out my weapon.  I hope that I never do.  I have had a few times that having it along was very comforting.  I have also had a few times when not having it was very uncomfortable.  I was once the target of an attempted car jacking in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Being a good boy, my pistol was locked in the trunk (since my permit was not honored in that state).  A  2000 pound car can be a better weapon than a puny handgun and I will never be that naive and stupid again.  Universal reciprocity between states sure would be appreciated.  Utah accepts everybodys permits.  I wish it went both ways.  Another time a bunch on young guys on dirt bikes swept in on me while I was alone shooting in the desert.  I was patching holes in my target and a ways from my rifle on it's shooting bench.  I could tell that they were going to grab my stuff and split.  They lost their enthusiasm when the saw my "US Army Veteran" baseball cap and the cocked and locked 1911 45ACP on my hip.  They just backed off and left.  Without the 45 I know that they would have robbed me.  Another time many years ago three drunken cowboys decided to hassle me (in my new red sports car) by blocking the highway with their truck and when I went around them by trying to run me off of the road.  This misadventure started somewhere in western Colorado and ended in eastern Utah.  I was alone, but I had a fast car and I was armed (although I probably wasn't legal in Colorado).  I was able to keep my cool until we got into a town and they gave up on me.  I never pulled the pistol on them, but it gave me the confidence to deal very calmly with the situation knowing that if things got nasty their three to one advantage wasn't going to help them.  As always, watch your back.  Watch-Six

Nope,

I have not had to pull mine yet, however, the closest I have come to it happened within a 6 hour span of time in Galveston, Texas.

About 2 am, someone in the adjacent room, attempted to jimmy the lock to enter our room.  I just grabbed the Bersa .380, slid it into my pocket (I was sleeping in shorts), placed a chair under the doorknob with a glass on top and went back to bed.

Second time was the following morning.  A street fight was in progress and I thought, at first, that it was a gang blocking the street.

They cleared out as I went by, and I slid the Smith back into the console.

Other than 'bumps in the night' at the house, I have not pulled my pistol.  A shotgun seems to be more 'Universally Respected' by two and four legged varmints.

been carrying for over 5 years and only "pulled iron" once.

neighbor high on drugs, playing loud music, yelled to me, F*CK YOU WILD BILL! (yes, my name is Bill) anyway, i had my NFA mac10 with me and said "come over here and say that". we met and talked like gentlemen, once he say my Mac of course.
anyway, the M.F. is known to be a wild fighting S.O.B., but not that day, the day he saw my full auto mac with a loaded stick up it's pistol grip!
you gotta love the ways that guns deter crime!

And by doing so you may very well have become the aggressor. In many states that action would be considered antagonistic and you may have a hard time proving in court that your actions didn’t escalate the situation. Lets’ remember why we carry concealed firearms in the first place... to defend our lives, not so we can be tougher than the other guy. I can just see the anti-gunners salivate as they read your post.
