How is the reliability of the HK45?  Does there seem to be any weak points in the pistol?  It seems like Glock gets a lot of attention for there reliability - would you consider this pistol at that level of reliability?

It'll run right up there with a Glock. Check this out.

Bought one back around 2001 and shot it quite a bit.  Full size USP 45,  had it maybe 3 months, and one of my friends who was LE needed a new duty weapon.  The day I sold it to him, we took it to the range so that he could give it a whirl, and using Winchester WB FMJ, the son of a b%$&* malfunctioned at least 6 or 7 times when halfway through the mag. Factory mags to boot.

He still bought it, but in excellent condition I let it go for $350 with 5 factory mags.  WTF was I thinking?

He's talking about the HK45 and not the USP 45.

I own both the HK45 and the HK45c and you simply cannot compare them to a Glock.  The similarities stop at .45 and being polymer.

I just bought an HK45 a couple weeks ago and shot it a few days ago for the first time.  I shot 200 rounds and didnt have any problems whatsoever.  I think it beats out the SIG 220 and the FN45 (I have one of each).  However, for bang-for-your-buck, the FN45 wins.

I've had my HK 45 for about a year now. The only issues I've had was the slide would not lock back on my light SWC handloads (200 grain jacketed SWC @ 780 fps) when it was new. Now it works 100% with all loads.
I traded in a Glock 30 for my HK 45 because the Glock would not cycle at all with the SWC loads.

Love mine. I put a 5.5lb LEM. No problems through 500 so far but that's just break in. Need to get my ass to the range.

Had mine for a year now. Not a single hiccup. This is the one handgun that I will never sell.

Bought a new one yesterday actually. After 100 rds through the gun it performs amazing and I love the gun. But I do have a problem with the trigger not resetting all the way on a slow release of the trigger. It simply doesn't return all the way forward. Sent it back to HK to fix.

Fairly new to this site but have a lot of experience with different guns. Overall, the HK45 is definitely one of my favs minus the small hiccup.

Please keep us posted on what HK says about that issue.  I had it happen once and I just gave it a good lube.  It hasn't happened since.

Yep, I thought that some more lube and plenty of dry firing to break in the trigger, etc....would help but it never was quite perfect so I sent it back to see what they say.

Mine is good to go now, the first 150 rounds I had a lot of problems with the slide not locking back after the last round. Really pissed me off because it happened 90% of the time on 3 different range sessions. After talking about it on this forum and others, I realized I might be limp wristing it and held it a little tighter, another 200 rounds down the pipe it hasn't done it again. Totally reliable now and I love it.
