I have an HK45 that i love. however, it is plagued by the sticky trigger reset when dry firing. I have replaced the hammer ,the trigger bar, and the trigger return spring, but it still does it. Has anyone ever found a solution for this issue?
P.S. yeah... i know it is fine when actually firing. That's not the question. I have 12 other handguns that don't have the issue (including 2 USPs and a P30) and reset normally. It's not "ok"! ;) thanks all! DS |

Question__1 What variant do you have? Second part of that question: what variant are your other HKs? Question__2 Did you do the gunsmithing with replacing the parts yourself or take it some where? Question__3 Did you buy it new or used? Question__4 I don't want to sound like a smart *ss and I am only trying to help; have you thought about picking up a set of snap caps ? |

all V1 except maybe the p30. not sure what that variant is, but its double single like all my HKs.. I guess its V1
yea, i replaced the parts. HKs are very easy to break down. bought it used and its always done this i always use a-zoom snap caps, but I'm not sure how that's relevant.. apparently this is a wide spread problem with the HK45. i was hoping some people had had the problem addressed in some way. DS |

i don't have a problem with the normal reset during firing. I'm pretty used to it. its just the reset when dry firing. The trigger hangs before going all the way forward where the trigger bar re-engages the hammer. I am considering taking a coil off the trigger bar indent spring to lessen teh pressure there thereby making the return easier. I hate cutting springs. Not sure how reliability might be compromised by lessening the trigger bar pressure though.
ill have to order a replacement and try it out i guess.. thanks to all for your responses! DS |
