Since you can screw the thread protector from both sides....when screwing on the HK45 thread protector do you install it flush to the barrel or the other way with it a little bit sticking past the muzzle.

The beveled end should be facing away from the gun, IMO. At least that's how mine came from the factory.

mine is not beveled and it is original HK part.

It is installed in the order that the thread protector sticks out over the barrel.  Thus protecting the barrel  Thread from any dings or divots.  


If it was installed the other way, then what good is if it doesn't protect the barrel?

Thanks for the info...also should I shoot it with or without it on when not using a suppressor.  I have a feeling that it will start coming lose.  How tight can you tighten it without damaging the threads.

Mine hasn't worked loose & all I do is finger tighten it. Do NOT grab a pair of vice grips & yank it down!

Should extend past the muzzle.  Tighten with fingers only.  Have fun shooting it, with or without a suppressor.
