My first handgun was a G21.  I loved it but as I grew to appreciate shooting more, I learned that I prefer single action pistols like 1911's.

I recently was talking to a friend and he told me he loved his HK with a LEM trigger and he compared it to a 1911 trigger.  I would like to know what other people with experience with both 1911s and LEM triggers have to say about that?

I have a P2000 with the LEM.  I really do like that trigger.  I also have a 1911, and it is not even close to the same thing.  Not comparable at all.  A 1911 is by far a better trigger.  The LEM is very long and you need practice to get used to it.  I stage it like a DAO revolver.  It does have a very predictable break, kind of like a 2 stage trigger.

LEM is a long double action pull.  But at about a typical single action (~5lbs) weight.  Nothing at all like a 1911 trigger.

I grew up on 1911s, and have tried some LEMs in a P2000 and a P30.  The LEM has a long take up/pull with a long reset.  The LEM and the 1911 trigger are not comparable.

I have gotten used to the DA/SA triggers on the USP and now a P30.  The P30 is better/  The SA on the USP and P30 are similar to a 1911 but with the P30 having more of a reset distance.  I hear the match triggers on the USP tacticals are fantastic.

Agreed. A good 1911 will alway win in terms of trigger crispness.

If you get a LEM v1 @5lbs it's a pretty good trigger.

I think of the LEM as a military two-stage trigger with a DA length initial take up.

It is miles worse than a 1911 trigger all around. However, the LEM is great for CCW work.
