I've been thinking about buying a P2000 in 40 S&W, but I am wanting some information on it first. I have Googled & Yahoo'd, but I cannot find much in the way of reviews. Is it good, bad or what? What about magazines? I don't see anywhere advertising for spare mags for it. Do the USP mags fit the P2000? Or are they a design of their own & hard to come by? Thanks hk45shooter |

I love mine. Big enough to use for a duty weapon and small enough to conceal. USP 40 Compact magazines are the same as a P2K .40 mag (actually new mags have P2000 USP 40 C on the floor plate) Fully reliable, actually mine has never even had a hiccup and has fired every round I've tried to put through it. Very accurate pistol, far more accurate than I am. I've had mine for about a year now and it still looks really good (no finish wear, just some where you'd expect on the exterior of the barrel). I've probably put a bit more than 1000 rounds through it. |

You call yourself HK45shooter and have not visited HKPRO yet??? Shame on you! All your questions about anything HK are answered there. Compact mags fit the US version of the P2K but not the full size mags. Just make sure when you buy that you do not get suckered into buying one of the GPM pistols that were imported by a few importers outside HK. They use their own special mags and are pretty hard to find state-side. Some of the European P2Ks imported have been converted to use the Compact mags so be careful. Stick with a US version and you won't have any trouble. For certain it is a US version if the serial number prefix is 123-xxxx. The European prefix is 116-xxxx. Although, if it has the 116- prefix it could have been converted but if buying sight unseen such as over the net, stick with the 123- prefix and you won't have any worries. |
Hey Big-Bore, thanks for the heads up on the serial numbers. And yes I have been to HKPRO, but I have not been there for a while & forgot about it before posting this. I'm heading there now, thanks. |
Did they elaborate on what specifically the GLOCK pistols had trouble with? |
I didn't ask specifically what failures it had. At the time we were talking about Beretta's Cougar pistol when he mentioned that the Glock and XD40 didn't pass (he really liked the XD and claimed it was the most accurate for him). Hopefully I run into one of them this week and see what specifics they can give me. |
Thanks bro. Happy holidays. Regards, Justin |
