Hello,

I just bought this gun but it has no date code.  The s/n is 15-241## and it says HK Inc. Sterling VA.  There is an oval with a BYD in it but thats it.  No 2 letter date code, no date stamp on the frame or the slide...  It has a factory test target dated 6-18-04 with an empty shell in a sealed envelope with the same date.  The plastic box has a matching serial number and looks new.  The gun also looks about 99%.  Is this a re-finished piece?  How can I find out what year it was made?

If the test target serial number matches the pistol then it was probably made in 2004. I didn't think HK made PSP's that late, mag release on the bottom or on the side? If on the side then its an M8.

Its a PSP with the heel release.  I called HK-USA customer service and they couldn't tell me when it was made either!  They said "probably about 14 years ago"!  They did say that it was sent back to the factory for inspection and hence the 2004 test target.

Is it stamped P7 PSP on the slide or just PSP?

Just wondering if it is a plain old HK P7, or if it is the more rare HK P7 that is stamped PSP, or it is the German police re-furbished HK P7.
