Thinking about picking up a Used USP 40 or 9mm for a good price.
I'm used to a 1911 so how does the trigger compare? How does the USP size compare to the Glock or XD as far as width, for conceal-ability? Anything else I need to know about? |
| Can't beat a 1911 trigger that's for sure. The HK trigger isn't the greatest but it works fine for a duty pistol. It is a large pistol, you will want to get a compact version if you want to conceal it that's for sure. Really I would suggest you look at the HK P2000 for conceal carry. They are tough and reliable pistols though. |

Bigger than a Glock, harder trigger than a 1911. They don't really light my fire. Getting them worked on is spendy at best and difficult at worst. I've had some work done on one of my HKs with very good results and didn't spend much money. HK's customer service was excellent. |

Trigger is a completely different that the 1911..but despite what some say, not hard to master. The LEM-Law Enforcement Modification-Trigger is supposed to be the best trigger out there for the USP. While I have not yet tried the LEM in my Compacts, I have been thinking of putting one in my USP Compact 40. As for the size..if you are considering carrying it, get the Compact. Here is some comparison shots of my Glock 23 and HK USP Compact 40. http://i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz150/DKBJR/IMG_1516.jpg?t=1281888826 http://i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz150/DKBJR/IMG_1521.jpg?t=1281888848 http://i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz150/DKBJR/IMG_1522.jpg?t=1281888871 http://i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz150/DKBJR/IMG_1518.jpg?t=1281888889 http://i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz150/DKBJR/IMG_1523.jpg?t=1281888910 http://i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz150/DKBJR/IMG_1520.jpg?t=1281888958 Good comparison. What the pics don't show you, however, is that the USPc is going to FEEL a lot bigger than the G23 on your hip. It weighs about 7 oz more (unloaded). |

I thought that too..until I started carrying mine..to be honest, I don't feel the difference between the 23 and USP. |
| If you wear the "RIGHT" hoster and have a great gun belt, the USP will disappear on your body. I'm not a big man, but I have succcessfully concealed a FULLSIZE USP fr years without any issues. Then I purchased a USP Compact. Again, with the right gear, it disappears on me. BUT, I must say that in MY case, for MY uses, one holster doesn't fit all my needs. Therefore, I have 3 or more holsters for each gun I conceal carry. |
