I know that this is the HK Pistol forum but I wasn't sure where else to post since I can't post it in the AR or AK section. Anyway I was wondering why the smooth handguards for HK G3's are so hard to come by. All the ones I see in catalogs and at gun shows have the other type. Heres a link so you see what I mean by smooth handguards http://www.hkpro.com/g3.htm I was just wondering if anybody has any links to any sites that sell those type pictured. Not the one at the bottom of that page. But all the others above. Because someday if I ever see a G3 type or Cetme I want to put those type of handguards on it.

Are you talking about the wide handguard like in this picture?

If so, then they are very easy to find.  POF sells one that is about as close to a real HK as you can get, and you can get real HK hand guards from CDNN, Gordon Miller, Robert Johnson, and others that sell on HKPRO.  If you are looking for the one in this picture,

then I am not sure.  It could be a modified wide handguard but I really doubt it is that simple.

Thanks a million. Yes that is what I mean. Those ones pictured. I prefer the smooth ones like in those. Atleast looks wise. Just like how I prefer the A1 triangular handguards on a AR-15. Yeah thanks for the links. I pyped in the search G3 handguards and all I had come up with were those other ones with all the holes in them and the groves. So thanks for the links.

Something else that just came to mind. Do this smooth wide handguards work on CETME's. because of the price of HK G3's I might not have a choice but to get a CETME or Springfield Import. Of course I have seen in pictures Springfield ones with the wide handguards but not on CETME's. Just wondering.
