I thought this would be a good place to ask what type of revolver this is. It seems very old and has been in the possession of my granddad for God knows how long. Thanks!

S&W Model 2 Army or Old Model I believe. 77,155 manufactured between 1861 and 1874. .32 Rimfire.

Sounds right...one of the first cartridge designs.
